Players and officials at Market Rasen FC are busy preparing for the challenge of Lincolnshire League Football for the upcoming season.
This season will see the reserve teams of senior non-league sides Boston United and Lincoln United visit Rase Park as well as the first team from Nettleham FC, who have moved from the Central Midlands League.
A local derby with Horncastle Town and a journey to the seaside in fixtures at both Skegness United and Skegness Town lay in wait for last year’s Lincoln League runners up.
The Lincolnshire League had no hesitation in accepting the town side after league officials checked the facilities at Rase Park.
With an exciting pre season fixture line up that includes Northern Premier League outfit Lincoln United (August 4) and Lincoln Moorlands FC (July 28, both 7pm kick off), manager Andy Brumpton has called the squad back early in preparation for the challenges ahead.
Pre –season training is well under way on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at De Aston fields, with new players welcome to join in.
The manager will look to strengthen the current squad that includes last season’s player of the year James Bennett and goal machines Adam Brumpton and Paul Nicholson.
With extensive work to improve the playing surface carried out after last season this should assist Brumpton in his policy of attractive close passing.
Assistant manager Aidy Turner is working hard on and off the training ground actively looking for sponsorship, so if you can help with match ball sponsorship or would like an advertising board around the ground contact Aidy on 07854 234252.
