Crushing for Caistor

CAISTOR Cricket Club’s super form of late in the Lincolnshire Premier League evaporated at Heslam Park against Scunthorpe Town with an eight-wicket defeat.

Scores were Caistor 110 (R Chand 7-36), Scunthorpe Town 114 for 2 (R Chand 54 no).

In Division 1 there was a super home win for South Kelsey by 10 runs against third-placed Outcasts. Scores: South Kelsey 138, Outcasts 128.

In Division 2 it was a poor day for Dan Healey’s Caistor 2nds, seeking promotion, when they lost to Lincoln’s Hartsholme 2nds at Brigg Road, the margin being seven wickets after Caistor mustered only 76. Scores: Caistor 2nds 76 (S Wilkinson 5-35), Hartsholme 2nds 77 for three. Owmby stayed comfortably clear of the relegation zone with a good home win over bottom side Haxey 2nds at Todmoor. Scores – Owmby 144 (E Tonks 5-33, with hat-trick), Haxey 2nds 83.

In Division 3 there was a heavy defeat for South Kelsey 2nds at Outcasts 2nds. Scores – Outcasts 2nds 178 for 9 (Buttrick 88 not out), South Kelsey 2nds 65 (G Fletcher 6-29).

In Division 4 Keelby 2nds lost very narrowly at home to promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe Town 3rds. Scores – Keelby 2nds 100, Scunthorpe Town 3rds 101 for nine; Morton 39 (Norburn 9-16), Market Rasen 2nds 40 for no wicket.
