The Rasen area village teams had a good weekend in the Lincolnshire League as Keelby, Owmby,South Kelsey and Hibaldstow all recorded wins.
Owmby Cricket Club had a useful win over visitors Scunthorpe Town 2nd in Division 1 at Todmoor.
Scunthorpe were all out for 127,the wickets being shared among the home bowlers. Owmby had no trouble at all in reaching the target, hitting 128 for the loss of just 4 wickets.
Keelby at home to Hartsholme in Division 1 put the visitors in and dismissed them for 111 in 41 overs. Gary Spencer had the amazing figures of 5 wickets for 3 runs. His luck did not last when he opened the Keelby innings and was dismissed without troubling the scorers. In reply Keelby were never really in trouble with Mark Parker hitting 41 and Danny Bevis 40 as they reached the target on 112 for the loss of just 3 wickets.
Hibaldstow, also in Division 1, won by 7 wickets at home to Nettleham. Nettleham hit 148 for 6 in their 45 overs with Joe Taylor and Carl Nazerath taking two wickets each.
Hibaldstow’s reply was centred around a century opening partnership between Carl Nash (51) and Jon Taylor (35) as they reached their target on 149 for the loss of three wickets.
South Kelsey had their first win of the season beating Outcasts at Holton le Moor in Division 3. Outcasts were skittled for 108 with Neil Thompson, taking 4 wickets for 5 runs. Matt Thompson and Matt Burgess each had two wickets. Rob Baty with 35 led the Kelsey reply and they eased home on 109 for 7 in the 35th over.
Keelby 2nds in Division 4 lost comprehensively at Old Lincolnians 2nds. The home side hit an impressive 247 and Keelby dug in on reply with 118 for 8,Paul Parker hitting 41.
