On a beautiful summers evening in Scothern Market Rasen Ladies XI played only their second game of a rain interrupted season.
Captain Catherine Fussey was in confident mood as the competition for selection is fierce with a number of players vying for selection.
On a dry wicket Scothern won the toss and elected to field first. With 20 overs available Market Rasen took about the task with vigour. Losing an early wicket didn’t deter their confidence and two outstanding batting performances from Beth Smith (58) and Catherine Fussey (26) who both finished not out put Market Rasen in an extremely strong position to claim their second victory of the season, finishing on 120 for 2.
With a strong bowling line-up and with the continued excellent form of Megan Quinlan, Market Rasen restricted Scothern to only 68 off their 20 overs claiming six wickets along the way.
A solid fielding performance was backed up by the bowling attack, with Megan finishing with figures of 3 overs, 1 maiden, 1 wicket conceding only 4 runs.
