There was just one fixture this weekend for Owmby Cricket Club as the Saturday XI entertained Hartsholme 2nds where the away side won by 42 runs.

Owmby won the toss and elected to bowl, which at first proved to be a good decision as the home side’s bowlers restricted Hartsholme to few runs.

By drinks Hartsholme were only on 54, however without losing a wicket they knew that there was a chance of posting a good score.

Owmby dominated briefly after drinks picking up three quick wickets as well as restricting Hartsholme. However with 15 overs to go and with Adrian Bunn (73) well set, the away side piled on the runs and posted a score of 157-6.

In response Owmby got off to a slow start as Hartsholme bowled with aggression and prevented Owmby from scoring many runs.

Just before the drinks break Owmby lost a couple of wickets and were struggling on 48-3. Despite the brief drinks break Hartsholme continued to dominate and continued to restrict Owmby.

Although Neil Looker scored 25 and Daniel Clark was 27 not out the home side never looked like reaching Hartsholme’s score and were bowled out for 115.
