CRICKET: Market Rasen under-15s fall in final


Market Rasen Cricket Club’s under-15 side were beaten by Stockton in the ECB U15 National Club Championship North Final.

Playing at York Cricket Club, the Rasen boys won the toss and decided to bowl first against the side from Durham.

Stockton reached a total of 136-6 after 20 overs with Tom Hewison retiring on a half century of runs.

In reply opener Matthew Travis hit 15 runs before being out by lbw, but Thomas and James Keast hit 69 runs between them to add to Rasen’s chase total.

Unfortunately the middle order of Paul Martin, Jake Jordan and Nic Keast were out for four runs between them.

After the loss of two more wickets Rasen’s u-15s finished on 121-8, 15 runs behind their rivals.
