Market Rasen Cricket Club have been promoted to the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League.

The ECB accepted Market Rasen after they won the Lincolnshire County Cricket League, having maintained an unbeaten run of form in the second half of the season.

But the Rase Park outfit will face a tough test next year when they face the likes of Woodhall Spa and Bracebridge Heath, both of which are likely to again field international Test players.

Rasen will join South Lincolnshire and Border League champions Billingborough in the top flight, replacing the relegated Hartsholme and Haxley.

Chairman Colin White congratulated both teams on their success and contribution to the league at the Premier League AGM. He thanked teams on creating an exciting season, which saw Sleaford snatch the championship on the final day.

The clubs voted for a change in rules next season. They have introduced 30-yard circles which four fielders, the wicketkeeper, and the bowler have to be inside the circle at all times.
