It didn’t matter if it was with bat or ball, Caistor Cricket Club’s Paul Dimbleby was untouchable on Saturday as the 1sts romped to victory over Broughton 1sts.

Winning the toss, Caistor elected to bat, Dimbleby top scoring with an unbeaten 47, well supported by Mark Gowshall with 35, Lane Tutty 26, Liam Wood 15 and Jim Parker 13.

Caistor were bowled out after 48 overs for 173, Simon Pullan and Shaun Clark starring for Broughton, taking four wickets each.

With ball in hand, it was that man Dimbleby who was the difference between the teams again, removing opener Nick Dobbs for a duck and the removing number three Robbie Glentworth caught and bowled for 14.

In total Dimbleby finished with seven wickets to his name for just 35 runs having bowled six maidens. The only Broughton batsmen to really cause Caistor trouble was Brett Fish, who was finally removed by Oliver Barrick’s bowling and a catch by Sean Woolley on 40.

Woolley also snapped up two wickets as the visitors finished 39 runs short on 134.

This Saturday Caistor 1sts head to Cherry Willingham.
