Fourteen runners from Caistor Running Club have completed the Chester Marathon.
Club runners of all abilities undertook the 26.2 mile course round historic Chester in what was, for most, their first marathon.
And for CRC Chairman Rod Burton it was a chance to be the winning finisher in the male 60 category with a time of 3:25:45.
“Obviously I’m delighted to have won in my age category, but I’m even more pleased for the other marathon runners from Caistor who have gone through the necessary training, supported each other along the way and achieved new heights in their running” said Rod following his victory.
With an annual eight-week beginners’ course starting each spring, Caistor Running Club continues to grow as it becomes one of the biggest clubs in the area.
CRC meet at Caistor Sports and Social Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm, Saturdays at 8.30am.
