I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by the recent problems with the alarm, and would like to take a moment to explain.
There is an ongoing problem with pigeons at this site, which began when the building sat empty for a few years. Their homing instinct is such that they are obsessed with the place and regularly get themselves trapped in, thus setting off the alarm.
Alarm activations are dealt with by an external security firm, who were not informing me that the alarm had been repeatedly sounding. I have had the warehouse spiked and netted and we have had a pest control firm in to exterminate any problem feral pigeons, and I am confident this has solved the problem.
I did ring many residents and knocked on doors following the bank holiday issues to apologise and assure that action had been taken, but was unable to contact everyone.
With regards to our location, I would have to disagree when you say it was a bad idea.
The move has seen an increase in turnover that has created new jobs and allowed us to support many local clubs/projects.
I currently support/have supported the rugby club, both Market Rasen and Middle Rasen Cricket clubs, the train station, Legsby Primary School, the bowling club, Pegasus Child Care, Park Tigers under 12s and Hainton Primary School to name but a few.
I am also working with Market Rasen Primary School to help then with their ‘Save Market Rasen Pool’ appeal.
I reiterate my apologies for the recent alarm problems and would encourage any local residents who encounter problems with anything at TP to approach me personally and I will be more than happy to deal with them.
