Being relatively new to the area, I wanted to say how honoured I was to be asked by the mayor and the town council to perform last Friday’s switch-on.
It was also great to hear that the mayor has made the Motor Neurone Disease Association the chosen charity for the evening.
I was diagnosed with MND this year and was forced to step down from the council in May.
It’s a cruel disease and always terminal, but you try very hard not to let it ruin your life.
Events like last Friday are very special and I would like to thank the Market Rasen Mail team for the support and accurate coverage they have given over the last year to articles that have involved myself.
Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to wish all in Market Rasen and a very happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year.
