As a care worker of 38 years, i feel uncomfortable with cameras in care homes.
If you maintain long-term staff, good training and sensible pay, this will help the situation.
Care workers work long hours, essential to give confidence and support to the client and family.
People who are on benefits cannot turn down a job or they will lose benefit, so they get a position in a care home.
They have no interest in the clients but they do not want to lose their benefit.
This in my eyes is a huge error.
Good quality care is essential but I don’t think cameras will make a huge difference.
