New mayor will do a great job

Editor – I am delighted that Ken Bridger has been elected mayor and wish him well for his mayoral year – I know he will do an excellent job for Market Rasen and its residents.

I am particularly pleased that Ken will be more than ably supported by new Deputy Mayor Stephen Bunney, an active and level-headed council stalwart.

It is also heartening to hear that we will start the mayoral year with a full council.

Of personal interest and pleasure is the affirmation that the council will continue to support the youth council and the town clean-ups our previous deputy mayor, Mike Eckersley, and I started last year, and in which a few councillors – including Ken – were regularly and actively involved.

I hope our new councillors will also be able to give both a council and a personal commitment to these important initiatives.
