EDITOR – Well done to everyone involved in the pop-up market, which I understand was organised by lovely local people and businesses. Good luck with the vid bid to Mary Portas... I thought it was fab.
Next is the jubilee celebrations, which I believe is being organised by the three churches in Rasen and the school.
Apart from a few open letters to the Mail, has Edward Leigh done anything to assist in the regeneration or promotion of the town? During his time as our MP, it seems, he has watched Market Rasen fall to its knees and done nothing.
I’d also like to know what the local council is doing financially to support the people giving their time and dedication to the town. They don’t seem to invest much cash back into Market Rasen that I can see... although they talk a lot.
In my opinion, we need a regular full market place twice a week, free pitches for the first few months until its established, with a variety of vendors – eventually locals and villagers from outside would come spend and we would get more day trippers, who might stay for lunch and look round the town, just like they do in Louth.
