Your readers may be interested to know that a former student of De Aston School was awarded a knighthood in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List.
David Dalton, formerly of Reepham and Sudbrook and a pupil at Reepham Primary School until he moved to De Aston in 1972, was appointed a Knight Batchelor for Services to Health Care. He received his knighthood from Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, at an investiture held at Buckingham Palace on June 27th.
Sir David Dalton is the Chief Executive of The Royal Hospital Trust in Salford, Manchester, and lives with his wife and son on the Wirral.
In July of this year he was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science by the University of Salford for his services to Healthcare.
His parents, Judith and Peter Dalton, lived in Lincolnshire for 20 years before moving to Leicestershire.
