Letter: Where’s the spirit of fair play?

EDITOR – On this particular occasion it wasn’t the headline that first caught my attention, but a picture of what seemed to be a group of people set for a race on the snow-covered sands at Mablethorpe (Market Rasen Mail, January 5, 2011).

Then came into focus what all this was about – ‘From horses to horsepower for hunt members’ – and a few words from hunt supporter Malcolm Digby, who said: “For those disinterested, please don’t criticise this tradition until you have tried it.”

Now, the thing is, I have always supported the hunt and carried on so, even when the ban came into force, but to jump on quad bikes and try to run the fox over is what you might call, ‘not cricket old bean’.
