Since we apparently have some grant money going begging, could some of it be used to update the railway station? Although the station adoption group have made significant improvements, the lack of a heated waiting room and toilets are a problem.
After all, about 150 years ago they had a waiting room plus a ladies waiting room!
The absence of toilet facilities is a real problem for anyone with a disability.
Last year, I approached a town councillor about the problem but nothing has happened.
Any money left over could maybe be used to make the market square safer for pedestrians and wheelchair users. Cobbles were all they had when the square was first established.
They are just too slippery and could be replaced with decorative block paving.
