LETTER: Alan Harwick - Use funds on rural crime

Once again the silly season is here, namely ,rural crime ,no sooner than the district commissioner announces that rural crime is getting less ,somebody stole my farm gates.

This is just another burglary to add to dozens I have had over the last 10 years, from tractors, quad bikes, work shop, diesel, more gates, when will it stop, perhaps a greater deterrent would help.

In the last two weeks many tractors have been stolen in Lincolnshire . perhaps the commissioner could find the equivalent money to prevent crime that he spent on an enquiry into the chief constable, the £150,000 would employ more policeman .
