I was a guest of the chairman and general manager at Market Rasen Racecourse last week.
In the early part of the day, there was an ordinary race-goer who suffered a medical condition.
The on-site medical team performed outstandingly and the patient was transferred by ambulance to hospital.
His friend, an elderly man, was assisted by racecourse staff and supported by the chairman of the racecourse, Colin Booth, and helped to the directors’ dining room, where he was offered not only comfort but also the best hospitality, while being kept in touch of his friend’s condition.
I believe the chairman also drove the man home.
This is indeed one of the most outstanding and charitable acts by a member of our community that I have seen in many years.
