Officers were all re-elected at the annual meeting of the town hall management committee.
Kathy Lowe (chairman), Robert Barnes (vice-chairman), Tressa Machin (secretary), Margaret Sergeant (treasurer), Margaret Newland (booking secretary), Pat Steele (bingo chairman) and Tressa Machin (200 club chairman) will continue in their current positions.
All were sad to note the end of the Friday night whist drives in the hall, which had been arranged by volunteers for well over 40 years, and also the Sunday afternoon tea dances, which were also coming to an end after a much shorter trial period.
The community group which is taking over the library/resource centre facilities is looking for premises to provide the community hub.
This will be continuing on Millbrook Park when it opens later this year, but the group hopes to find a more centrally situated building.
A request was made during the annual meeting regarding the possibility of using the town hall and this was discussed at the committee meeting which followed, prior to a feasibility study being undertaken.
