Market Rasen De Aston School pupil Tek Hong Chung has won the district final of this year’s Rotary Young Musician competition held in Lincoln.
Tek impressed the judges with his violin performance and will now compete in the regional final in York later this year.
And he will be joined by another De Aston pupil, Chrissie Bird, who came in reserve position in the vocalist category.
De Aston School head of music Hilary Waterfall said: “Both Chrissie performed extremely well.”
The competition aims to give young people an experience of performing on a public stage, to showcase their musical talent and be assessed by experienced adjudicators.
