BINGO - Yvonne Blackburn was caller for the popular Saturday Night Family Bingo which, with a boost from a tombola stall, raised £170.46 for the town hall Renewal’s Fund.

Thanks go to everyone for their support.

MYSTERY TRIP - Members of the WI and friends went on their annual magical mystery tour, which this year led them to Humberstone.

The full coach travelled through the rural lanes, before arriving at The Trawlerman, where their meal was waiting to be served.

The winners of the competition as first to guess the destination were Kay Franklyn and Marjorie Cash and they each earned themselves a free meal as their prize.

The on coach raffle raised £54 for Help for Heroes which, together with the sale of jigsaws and books at family cash bingo nights means £85 will be forwarded to the charity.

WHIST - Winners at the whist drive, held in the town hall on July 29, were: Ladies - 1 Mrs Y Watson, 2 Mrs B Brumpton, 3 Mrs R Abbott; Gents - 1 Mr J Lloyd, 2 Mr B Pixsley, 3 Mrs R Foster.

Highest Half went to Mrs S Collins and Mr M Swift, with Mr R Dixon and Mrs E Laking winning the miniature.
