What’s happening in South Willingham
Willingham Winners - Paul Elliott and Tony and Chris Hand were the owners of the Willingham Winners Club lucky tickets, drawn at the regular coffee mornings in the Parish Hall.
The club manager, Chris Nutten, organises the draws and subscriptions on behalf of South Willingham Parish Hall Management Committee and she will be happy to give details to anyone interested in joining.
The informal coffee and chat mornings are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month and all are welcome.
Volunteer hostesses give their time on a rota to serve the coffee and there is no charge as the hall committee give free use of the hall, but donations are always welcome and after expenses any surplus goes towards hall maintenance.
Quiz and chips - It was a full house for the quiz, with fish and chips, in the parish hall.
It proved to be a very happy social evening and it raised a welcome £198 for hall funds too.
Almost 50 servings of fish and chip suppers were collected from the Heneage Arms Community pub, just up the road at Hainton.
The servings for previous quiz nights had been obtained from nearby towns, but this was a very successful new venture and a much more convenient arrangement of benefit to both small communities. With supper over it was back to business and the quizzers puzzled over more questions from Chris Washer general knowledge, Maureen Ferguson Lincolnshire, David Nut ten sports, June Sylvester Picture Quiz and Steve music.
