Use Brigg Train Station this weekend and help bring it back to what it was like more than 20 years ago.
That is the message from Brigg Business Partnership, the town’s business forum which has organised a train shopping trip out to Grimsby on Saturday, November 30..
Jane Kitchen of the partnership said:“Coun David Dobbie of Gainsborough is arranging a shopping trip to Grimsby this Saturday to highlight the issue of the iconic “Saturday Only” Brigg line passenger services which is on the Sheffield- Cleethorpes line via Gainsborough and Brigg.
“We are joining forces in the hope of making local people aware of the service and also as part of a campaign to bring the line back to its former glory.”
It is now 20 years since the daily service was ended and what is sometimes officially known as a parliamentary service on Saturday’s only was left.
The outbound service that this event will be using will be the 8-03am from Sheffield to Cleethorpes, it will call at Kirton Lindsey at 9-10am, Brigg 9-19am and Barnetby 9-38am.
The return journey will be the 15-20 service from Cleethorpes ( 15-27 at Grimsby Town )
