Have your say on the rail service for Market Rasen by taking part in the MR RUG (Market Rasen Rail Users Group) survey.
The survey was officially launched at Saturday’s MR BIG market and a number of people took the opportunity to fill one out there and then.
“To get any improvement in train services we have to have evidence of need,” said David Harby, chairman of Railfuture Lincolnshire Branch, who is working closely with MR RUG.
“The only way to do this is to ask people and by doing it away from the train station, we can talk to those not using the train service and find out why.”
And already MR RUG has discovered a number of people who prefer to make the journey to Newark for a more reliable service to London - and pay the £11 parking charge.
Another issue that has arisen is the request for a Sunday service all year round.
“This is not just so people can leave the town on a Sunday, but also so family can visit their relatives in Rasen - some people have said they feel very isolated on Sundays,” added Mr Harby.
And the survey has been welcomed by members of Market Rasen’s Station Adoption Group.
“It is great that more volunteers have come on board to take this side of the job on and MR RUG is doing great work already,” said chairman John Skelton.
“We are looking forward to continuing to work closely with them.”

Paper copies of the survey are also available from outlets in the town - the Co-op, The Big Corner Shop, Tesco and Greens of Lincolnshire.
