COLLISION UPDATE: Crossroads at Moortown

An elderly couple had to be cut from their car after a collision at Moortown yesterday (November 5).

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue took 45 minutes to release the 81-year-old man and 77-year-old woman from their silver Vauxhall Minerva after the incident.

They were both taken to Grimsby Hospital by land ambulance; their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The couple are from the Lincoln area.

The other vehicle involved in the collision was a VW Caddy van owned by a lease company from the Birmingham area and driven by a 49-year-old man from Leeds, who was not injured in the incident.

The collision happened just after 2pm at the junction of the B1205 and B1434.

The road was closed for approximately five hours.
