TOWN memorabilia saved by the people for the people is now having to be boxed up and stored.

Rase Heritage Society has been based in a room at The Hub in Union Street, but, as funding has now run out, they will have to leave at the end of February.

The group had hoped to move the collection into a space at the Old Police Station in Dear Street, but they have been advised the building is not yet ready for occupation.

Rase Heritage chairman Hazel Barnard said: “It is with heavy hearts we will be packing away our collection for the time being and we will be sad to leave this room.”
