Major work to repair the tower of All Saints Church in Bigby is now complete, at a cost of more than £21,000.
A severe crack in the South West corner of the church tower was identified in 2012 and various grants were obtained to carry out the project.
“The Parochial Church Council are very grateful to Marshall’s Charity, ChurchCare (The Wolfson Foundation), Lincolnshire Old Churches Trust, Headley Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, Diocesan Buildings Committee, West Lindsey District Council, All Churches Trust and John Warren Foundation for their help in funding this project,” said Church Warden Chris Banham.
Thanks have also gone to those who made private donations, “200” club participants and fund raising supporters.
However, despite these welcome grants, Mrs Banham said PCC funds were depleted by the project, so another fundraising concert will be held in the church on Friday May 29; a recital by renowned harpist Anneke Hodnett.
The event will be preceded by wine and canapés in the Village Hall.
The cost is £15 per person, with tickets available from Christine Banham on 01652 628414 or Liz Spring 01652 628329, email L12spring@aol.com
