Acts of Remembrance will be held throughout the country this coming weekend and in this area too there will be a number of events to honour the fallen.

At Market Rasen, a Service of Remembrance will be held in St Thomas’s Church starting at 9.30am.

This will be followed by a parade to the War Memorial in Chapel Street, led by Market Rasen Resdev Band.

In Caistor, the parade assembles at 9.45am in the market place before proceeding to the parish church for the Service of Remembrance at 10.15am; wreath laying at the war memorial follows at 11am.

Children from Caistor Primary School will be observing their own Act of Remembrance at the town’s war memorial at 11am on Monday, November 11.

Sunday’s Remembrance Service and laying of wreaths at Brigg is organised by the town council, and led by the Royal British Legion, as well as serving and ex-service personnel.

The parade assembles in Station Road and moves off at 10.25am to St John the Evangelist Church for the Service and Act of Remembrance, at the War Memorial inside the church, at 11am.

After the service, the parade reforms in Wrawby Street and marches to the War Memorial for a full Wreath Laying Ceremony and a further Act of Remembrance.

Brigg Children’s Remembrance Service and planting of crosses will be held this Friday, November 8, at 11am; assemble at 10.45am.

A Service of Remembrance will also be held on Sunday, at approximately 12 noon, at the Icarus Memorial on Wickenby Aerodrome, followed by wreath laying at Holton cum Beckering churchyard.
