The group of volunteers who have been helping to make Howsham more colourful, cheerful and tidy ahead of this year’s entry into CPRE Northern Lincolnshire’s Best Kept Village Competition are calling for any more willing helpers to come and meet them at Howsham Park this Sunday, July 19, from 2pm for a final push ahead of the imminent judges.
Howsham won the Best Kept Small Village in 2014, so this year they are in the previous winners category with all the other winners, a slighter tougher challenge.
Last weekend a group of volunteers met up to create a new area of community planting and visitors to the village will find ‘HOWSHAM’ spelt out in plants and stones at the top of Cadney Road.
Volunteers, from left to right, are; Clare Potter, Linda Boyden, John Clark, Debbie Clark, Liz Munro and Dave Munro.
Stephen Clark also helped but was behind the camera.
