Visitors to one Rasen area village hall are guaranteed a warm welcome thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
Faldingworth’s village hall has received £10,000 from the body funded through the National Lottery and the majority of the money has been used to install a new high-spec heating system, which uses ceiling-mounted cassette units.
“The previous heating was very antiquated - it did the job but needed updating to give more control,” said Les Worrell, part of the entertainment committee, who worked alongside chairman Dave Longden on the funding bid.
“This new system uses minimum power to achieve maximum output, so it should be much more cost effective, but it is up to users to help the committee - if it is left on, users will be charged.”
The rest of the grant is being used for a music weekend in June, with concerts in the hall and activities at the village primary school.
The first event, on June 19, is limited to Faldingworth residents only and will be a meal followed by John Allison in concert.
Also that day, popular musician Liam Robinson from The Mini Morris Company will be going into the school to work with the children.
And the school fete on the following day, Saturday June 20, will have face painting, a suitcase circus, glitter tattoos and balloon shaping free to all at the event thanks to the Lottery grant.
Abba tribute band Abba Arrival and the Gary Grace 4-piece Swing Band will also be in concert over the weekend - open to residents of Faldingworth, Buslingthorpe, Friesthorpe, Lissington, Snarford, Holton cum Beckering, Snelland and Wickenby.
Tickets will go on wider sale after May 15.
