You are out in the garden or rooting about while out walking and you find something – but what is it? Where do you take your find, how do you get it viewed and how do you preserve it?
That next step is a lot closer than you think, as Caistor’s Arts and Heritage Centre is acting as a centre where you will be able to get your find identified and also get advice about where to go next.
“The intention of the project is to improve the heritage capability at the Arts and Heritage Centre so that items discovered locally can be shown off to their maximum,” said centre manager Stephanie Dale.
“Volunteers can learn new skills and, at the same time, help to build up a better picture of Caistor’s past and improve the heritage centre.
From the Portable Antiquities Scheme, Lincolnshire liaison finds officer Adam Daubney is looking to come to Caistor to hold a series of monthly drop-in sessions.
