Staff at Market Rasen Racecourse admit there is a ‘fantastic buzz’ with the anticipation of the performance of pop sensation Jess Glynne in August.
The Brit-award nominated singer will be in town as part of the Jockey Club’s An Evening At The Races live music events.
“Tickets are selling really fast, so I would advise anyone who wants tickets to book now,” said Patricia Grove, sales and marketing coordinator at the Rasen course.
Generous Jess has also announced she will be donating a portion of her fee for each of the four shows - Haydock Park, Sandown Park, Newmarket and Market Rasen - to an equine charity, which The Jockey Club Live will match.
The charity she has chosen is Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), which is British horseracing’s official equine charity responsible for safeguarding the welfare of former racehorses.
Their primary objective is to ensure horses that retire from racing go on and enjoy a second career in an alternative equine activity.
The charity’s work also includes education of owners, the provision of horses for equine therapy, helping disadvantaged children and adults with special needs and providing care for vulnerable horses.
“Supporting a charity specialising in retraining retired race horses is a pleasure,” said Jess.
“The work RoR carries out is incredible - protecting the welfare of these beautiful animals,”
