Market Rasen’s second town specialist market in May will feature displays and animals from the Lincolnshire Show.
The town council hopes the move will boost the former MR BIG markets, which were relaunched on Easter Saturday.
Fruit and veg stallholders Bryan Spitttlehouse and Jenny North said the first market of the year had only 11 stalls, five of them from charities.
The couple felt the market could have been better promoted. “It was a disgrace and utterly disgusting,” said Jenny, noting one stall was promoting Tesco.
However, underwear stallholder Josephine Jefferson said: “It was a good day last Saturday.”
Town councillor Steve Bunney agreed: “It was an excellent market. It was a good start, a pleasant day.”
He added the Lincolnshire Show stalls in Market Place would give a fine taster of the June event, but he would talk to other traders about improving publicity for future markets.
