Royal Mail’s busy workers aim to deliver

POST is still not getting through according to Rasen residents who are awaiting their Christmas parcels.

December is normally an exceptionally busy time of year for the Royal Mail, but the recent snow has meant deliveries have been delayed and there is a backlog of post.

Market Rasen Mayor Brian Richardson is among those unhappy with the level of service.

He said: “We and our neighbours have only had one mail delivery since the snowfall at the beginning of the month.”

A spokeswoman for the Royal Mail said: “I would like to explain that we put contingency plans into operation during times of adverse weather to try and keep mail services running, wherever it is safe and possible to do so.
