Hundreds of people flooded into Market Rasen’s Festival Hall for the Model Railway Show organised by the Rotary Club of Market Rasen, where a number of layouts could be viewed and there were plenty of items on sale for the enthusiast.
And it was the first outing for the Market Rasen layout created by The Rase Model Group, but it was the Billingborough layout that caught the eye of Town Mayor John Matthews.
“It has been a great success,” said Rotarian Keith Patrick. “We are very grateful to the people of Market Rasen and to the town council for their marvellous support in helping to put on the event.
“Whilst we hoped to make a modest sum of money for our charitable support of local, national and international charities, we also wanted to create a different fun event for the local people.
“We managed to do both, and I have received many compliments about the staging of the event.
“Traders had mixed fortunes, but I want to thank them personally for their donations towards the running of the event, even when they had not such a good day.
“To the exhibitors and demonstrators - I thank them for their attendance. I received many compliments on their behalf on the quality of their exhibits.”
