The 85–year–old has covered village news in Moortown and Holton–le–Moor for the Rasen Mail for many years and also wrote reports for Caistor Flower Club.

Connie attended Caistor Grammar School before becoming a teacher,

She married Ken Barr in North Kelsey in 1947.

Editor of the Market Rasen Mail Paul Fisher said: “Connie’s contribution to the newspaper has been invaluable over the years.

“Without her dedication we would have missed vital insight into village life.

“She will be greatly missed by all.”

Connie and Ken’s first son Rodney tragically died after six months, but the couple had four more boys, Michael, Robin, Russell and Andrew and two daughters, Sara and Heather.
