The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, and The EBP will be jointly hosting the 2015 ‘Red STEM Day’ at RAF Scampton on July 8.

The event highlights the importance of studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or ‘STEM’ subjects, and follows on from the hugely successful inaugural Red STEM Day held last year.

This year’s event will give 200 young people from Lincolnshire schools the opportunity to see 20 interactive exhibits provided by such hi-tech companies as Aston Martin, BAE Systems, Bentley, Land Rover and Mercedes AMG Petronas.

These hands-on activities are designed to inspire the students and illustrate career opportunities in the world of STEM.

The day coincides with a scheduled display practice by the Red Arrows, showcasing the team’s engineering excellence and precision.

And organisers are excited to be welcoming back celebrity STEM Ambassadors Jason Bradbury, host of The Gadget Show and inventor of a jet-powered hoverboard, and Carol Vorderman, Cambridge University engineering graduate, TV personality and author of several books on mathematics.

As part of its ‘Potential for Growth’ brand, The EBP currently manages the Schools STEM Network and STEM Ambassadors programme throughout Lincolnshire and Rutland.

Acting as a broker between education and the world of work, The EBP enables young people aged 5-19 years, of all backgrounds and abilities, to meet motivating role models and understand practical applications of STEM subjects.
