The ‘Rasen Hub’ with its approachable friendly staff and volunteers promises more craft activities, different groups and various workshops this month.
Firstly, the Creative Writing group shall now incorporate a book reading opportunity, therefore leading to reviews and a range of topics. There will be no hard and fast rule about what books are included, however, it has been favoured that all types of genres would certainly create a good grounds for discussion. The Creative Writing/Book Club shall now meet fortnightly on a Monday at 10am - 12pm at a cost of £2.50. If there are any enquires with regards to joining just pop along and leave your contact details with whoever greets you at the ‘Hub.’
If you are you currently researching family history and needing assistance, there is an opportunity to meet like minded people on the last Friday of every month. There will be others to chat with and who will offer help and guidance as well as having a cup of tea/coffee. The group shall meet at 10am - 12pm and costs £2.50
‘Inspire! Creative well-being’ meets every Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm. It uses creativity to promote confidence and assists with low self esteem, anxiety and depression. It is a friendly, casual atmosphere with no booking necessary.
Saturdays are for the youngsters, with the junior craft club. This month’s themes are drfitwood candle holders, a nature day, Father’s Day cards and dolly peg dolls. Sessions run from 10am to 11.55am and the cost is £3 per child. Book on the number below as places are limited.
This month Rasen Hub is featuring herbalist Ali English; go along to meet her on Wednesday June 10, between 10am and 3pm, when she will also be offering mini consultations.
Ali will also be leading a free wild walk around Rasen and give a talk on hedgerow herbs, cost £5, on June 17.
And she will also be giving her regular monthly workshop, on June 9 from 7pm to 9pm, which this month focuses on Summer Medicine. The cost is £15 per person.
All Ali’s events need to be booked in advance through the Hub.
The Hub offers many other services throughout its opening hours, (10am -4pm everyday in the week, except Thursdays.) The Citizens Advice are there on June 2 and 16 at 10.30am to 1pm, with no appointment necessary, or the June 9 23, 10am - 1pm for an appointment.
The Domestic Abuse Service is confidential and only ever on a one to one basis. Yvonne will be at the Hub every first Monday of each month.
