The speaker at the October meeting of Market Rasen Gardening Club was Natalie Prosser on ‘Garden Escapades, the story so far’.
Natalie is currently the assistant head gardener at Gunby Hall.
She started out at Howick Hall in Alnwick, Northumberland, where the gardens are renowned for their snowdrops and tulips.
In 2012, she and her team won a gold medal at the Harrogate spring flower show for their show garden. At the time, Natalie was working and training at Harlow Carr to obtain her qualifications.
Further work followed at the Eden Project and various other sites, before she moved to Gunby Hall in 2013.
After the talk, it was noted that Wragby will not be replacing East Barkwith in the three-way quiz next year and Woodhall Spa will try to get another team.
Two new members were introduced by chairman Geoff Barnard and everyone was reminded of next month’s photographic competition.
The next meeting will be a members’ night in the Methodist Chapel School Room on Tuesday, November 24, at 7.15pm.
