Market Rasen Racecourse is teaming up with Lincs Inspire leisure centres to promote health and wellbeing among young people in the county.
They are coming together to stage what is aimed to be Lincolnshire’s biggest junior workout at the annual Family Day racing fixture on Sunday, July 3.
Two fitness instructors from Lincs Inspire will lead the youngsters in the workout, and Lincs Inspire’s sports development team will hold a range of fun-filled activities, such as a penalty shoot-out and giant games.
The picnic-themed day - which includes appearances by Peter Rabbit - complements the racecourse’s Lawn Enclosure Community Project.
Pupils from five local schools - De Aston, Middle Rasen, Legsby, Osgodby and Tealby - have been designing and planting flower beds provided by the racecourse. They will be formally unveiled on the day that the racecourse’s Family Enclosure is re-titled the Lawn Enclosure.
The beds will also include a time capsule.
Market Rasen Racecourse general manager Nadia Gollings said: “It’s sure to be an exciting race-day for all the family.
“The new Lawn Enclosure celebrates all that is good for families on our race-days.
“Market Rasen Racecourse is very much part of its community and we are pleased to be giving something back to our customers who support us throughout the year.”
