Pupils’ award for sustainability work

Children at a Caistor school are celebrating after winning an eco award.

Pupils at Lincolnshire Montessori School have achieved a bronze award in the Eco Schools programme, which encourages schools to think about sustainability.

A group of children aged 6-11 have named themselves the ‘Eco Friendlies’ and have gained their first award in the scheme for their sustainability work.

Eco Schools committee member Charlie Ellerby said: “We hope to build up a strong committee to create a more eco-friendly school. We are now working on the Silver award.”

Business manager Rebecca Noton said:”I have been very impressed by how inspired the children are to make our school more environmentally friendly.”
