A planning application to build a large wind farm at Hemswell Cliff has been refused by West Lindsey District Council this evening, Wednesday October 30.

Hundreds of people attended the planning meeting, which had to be moved from the council offices in Marshall’s Yard, Gainsborough, to The Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Showground.

More than 2,000 people objected to the plans for 10 turbines.

Edward Leigh, MP for Gainsborough, spoke against the application and called it “disastrous.”
