THE SORRY state of the County Bridge in Brigg has not been helped by a burst pipe at the site, which has now been given a “stop gap” repair by Anglian Water.
But it is still spraying water upwards to the bridge railings.
After bursting last month there were fears Bridge Street’s water supply could be affected, but these concerns have now receded according to MP Andrew Percy, who has taken the matter up with the water utility.
He said: “The interim measure is only a stop gap. I recognise people are complaining. I am pressing Anglian Water for dates to effect a proper repair.
“Highways need to be involved as water is going everywhere.”
