West Lindsey Residents will have their say on the District Plan in October, a month after it will have been published.

Central Lincolnshire planning chiefs have already been discussing early drafts of the plan at workshop briefings on July 14 and August 4.

West Lindsey district councillors will receive confidential copies of the draft on August 12, in time for them to attend workshops on it with council officers on August 14 and August 20.

A formal first draft will be released on September 1, which will become public.

”It will contain planning policies that are relevant to the whole Central Lincolnshire area. A number of questions will be proposed which will form the basis of the formal consultation,” council leader Jeff Summers told a meeting of the full council last week.

Coun Summers said the proposed Local Plan will then be taken to a meeting of the Prosperous Communities committee on September 2, so that it has been through council processes.

The first formal consultation period will start in October, which gives the council another opportunity to feedback comments through the formal processes, he said.

The Central Lincolnshire Local Plan will be finalised in 2016.
