MARKET Rasen will not be getting a swimming pool it was announced at last night’s meeting of Market Rasen Town Council.
West Lindsey District Council leader Burt Keimach said that given the current economic climate and government budget cuts, his “dream” of building a swimming pool in Market Rasen was just “not possible.”
He also described the planned site at De Aston Fields as “quicksand” and said an underground stream would have made it difficult to build a swimming pool on.
But he said his news was bittersweet, as Market Rasen would now get back some of the money put aside for the pool to use on other projects.
