New Market Rasen skip hire business has council backing

A new skip hire business looks set to begin trading on Gallamore Lane Industrial Estate in Market Rasen after the town council supported a planning application to change the existing empty industrial unit to a waste transfer site.

The site at 4 Park View will be used by John Clancy to run a small skip hire business.

He told town councillors at a meeting last Wednesday that only small three to five tonne skip lorries will be used and the site will be used to sort and recycle nonhazardous household waste.

Mr Clancy said to start with he would be running the business alone but hoped that in time he would be able to provide employment opportunities for local people.

He is now applying to the Environment Agency for a licence for the site.

Market Rasen Town Councillors were unanimous in their support of Mr Clancy’s planning application, which will now go before Lincolnshire County Council.

At the same meeting an extension to 74 Waterloo Street was supported.
