BRIGG Town Mayor’s 2010-11 Appeal is to be shared equally between the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the purchase of new play equipment for children.

The appeal raised £1,636.80 and Trevor Cherry received a cheque for £818.60 on behalf of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

The mayor’s appeal, when launched, aimed to support children’s playground equipment at Donkey Field in Almond Grove, but now Keigar Homes will be providing funding for the re-furbishment as a condition of the grant of planning permission for their new housing development on Island Carr.

As a result, the appeal fund will be redirected to help buy a piece of equipment for the Davy Memorial Playground in Kings Avenue, with a small working group of young people being formed to use this money as match funding to raise a larger grant for the work to be done.
