House plan ‘yes’... if the roads can cope

BRIGG council has backed plans to build up to 600 news houses in the town – but only if the area has the roads to support it.

The building is planned for the north of the Brigg, but councillors agree the town needs a relief road linking Springbank and the bottom of Grammar School Road with Wrawby Road.

Town Mayor John Kitwood said: “Access up Grammar School Road is very difficult at school run times.”

Town clerk Jeanette Woollard pointed out the plans put forward would only become new builds if developers came forward.
