Controversial proposals to redevelop Nicol Lodge have been approved by Brigg council after a new plan was drawn up.
Brigg Town Council’s planning and environment committee approved a new set of redevelopment plans for Nicol Lodge, next to Brigg Cemetery on Nicolgate Lane, where permission had already been granted for a new dwelling.
The previous plans had not met with the approval of neighbours and objections were raised by the town council about the potential detrimental effect on neighbouring properties.
Councillors noted that several changes have now been made to the plans, which appear to have addressed the concerns raised by neighbours.
But councillors reiterated concerns about the possible removal of hedges along the boundary and the planning committee expressed concern at increased vehicular movements entering and emerging from a retail car site at a haulage yard on Bridge Street.
The entrance is directly opposite the entrance to the Island Carr industrial estate.
